Betsy graduated from Taylor University in Upland, IN, in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. She also earned a piano pedagogy certificate with her degree. Betsy grew up in choirs and band through church and school. She taught music in elementary schools from 1989 until she retired in 2019. She also mentored other music teachers throughout her teaching years and was named Teacher of the Year at her school in 2014. She also plays at her church orchestra and in a state worship orchestra, performing several concerts yearly. She was honored to play clarinet with this state group at Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2014. Betsy was also a Music ministry assistant at a church. After retiring, she began teaching privately, both in-person and online. She is a member of the Florida Music Educators' National Association. She offers classical, pop, and light jazz styles.
