Who doesn't dream of playing the drums? And it's easier to get started than you may think. A beginner student can start with a pair of drumsticks and a practice pad (which emulates the "real feel" of a snare drum) for a minimal cost. As the student develops, you can buy one drum at a time (starting with the snare drum) or the whole kit. Another option is electronic drums, which can be played with a headset if noise is an issue, and are similar in price and feel to an acoustic drum kit.
