Samantha has played the viola since the early 2000s, cultivating a distinguished career in both performance and music education. During high school, she attended the renowned Interlochen Arts Camp for viola performance for three summers and spent the five summers after graduating high school working as the Intermediate Ensembles Orchestra Manager. Samantha graduated from Syracuse University in 2017 with a Bachelor in Viola Performance.
While attending Syracuse, she served as a teaching assistant in the music education department, where she taught private lessons to both string and non-string majors and young students in the Syracuse community. She was instrumental in developing curricula for beginner and intermediate students in the String Pedagogy class, taught viola sectionals, and led rehearsals while observing various experienced conductors and teachers.
Samantha continued her advanced musical education at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where she graduated in 2019 with a Masters in Musicology. Since beginning her own private teaching in 2011, she has shared her expertise across a variety of genres. She offers professional instruction in classical, pop, and beginning fiddling styles, tailoring her outgoing and methodical approach to help students of all ages achieve their musical potential.
Samantha provides lessons from her professional studio in New York City and offers high-definition online sessions. She also travels for in-home lessons throughout the NYC area. She focuses on building a bridge between technical proficiency and creative performance.
