Steve graduated from State University New York in White Plains, NY, in 2018 with a Bachelor in Jazz Performance 2018. He continued his education to receive a Master's in Music from CUNY Queens in Flushing, NY, in 2020. He is also certified to teach K-12 in public schools. Steve has been a professional musician since the late 1990s and has appeared in jazz festivals in Europe, Australia, and the United States. Since relocating to New York, Steve has been the principal bassist on Broadway NYC and held several jazz residencies at clubs and hotels in and around the NYC area for multiple venues and styles. Steve has been teaching since 1998 and, along with teaching privately, also teaches in public schools. He offers jazz, classical rock, pop, Afro, Cuban, Bossa Nova, blues, country, and funk.

Melody Music Studios was founded in 1989 by Kathi Kerr. We offer fun, tailored lessons for all instruments, levels, and styles, reading or by ear. Our goal is to build a strong musical foundation for a lifetime of enjoyment.
We offer a one business-day grace period to cancel with a guarantee: if you're unhappy with the teaching, the first 30 minutes are free. Card information is required at sign up, but it is not charged until the following business day if you're happy.
Future lessons can be canceled anytime with a 30-day notice. Our music teachers go through a rigorous hiring process. We check references and conduct background checks.
