Julio was born in Bell Ville, Cordoba, Argentina and began his musical career at a young age starting with the Municipal Band of Bell Ville and a few years later graduating from the Popular Music School "La Colmena" in the capital of Cordoba. At the age of 18, he moved to New York City, where he studied saxophone with Donny McCaslin, Paul Cohen,Bob Franceschini and participated in various Jazz and Latin Jazz groups. Julio continued his studies at the National School of Art in Havana, Cuba. And from there he moved to Madrid, Spain, where he recorded several albums. He also collaborated with several groups of the Madrid jazz scene. In 2007 Julio returned to New York City and created two albums. They were both nominated for Best Tango Album at the Latin Grammy Awards. Most recently, Julio has been working on three projects with music of his own authorship. Julio began teaching in 1997 in Argentina and 2009 in America. He offers classical, jazz, Latin, tango, and South American styles to name a few.
