Kathi grew up in a musical family and has been performing since childhood. She began her private study on the piano in middle school and went on to attend Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, CA, as a piano performance major from 1980 to 1982. During her college years, she took time off to perform and tour nationally with a professional Christian Rock band, gaining invaluable "real-world" experience on the stage.
Kathi later continued her formal musical education at the prestigious San Francisco Conservatory of Music from 1986 to 1989. This high-level academic background provided her with a deep understanding of both performance and music theory across multiple genres.
Providing private piano and voice instruction since 1985, Kathi is a highly versatile educator. She offers expert instruction in Jazz, Classical, Pop, Rock, and R&B styles. Whether a student wants to follow a traditional path with sheet music or master the art of playing by ear, Kathi tailors her patient and methodical approach to help students of all ages achieve their musical goals.
Kathi teaches from a professional home studio in Parsons, TN. She focuses on creating a supportive environment where students feel confident exploring different genres and finding their own creative voice.
Travel: Kathi is also available for in-home lessons and travels to surrounding neighborhoods within the Parsons area.
