RK is a world-class composer, pianist, and piano instructor, who's taught all ages and levels since 1995. She began her studies at the age of seven and graduated from the Senzoku Music University in Kawasaki, Japan with a major in composition and piano. She had a 3-day live audition before earning her invitation to the Yamaha Scholarship Program, where she furthered her studies in jazz piano, jazz theory, ensemble, composition, and arrangement. RK's teaching exploits included an Education Partnership Program from Berklee College of Music in Boston. One of her songs was the winner of a contest called Song Writer's Quest, a competition organized by the Composer and Authors Society of Hong Kong. She has written many hit songs for major artists and became a member of ASCAP in 2003. in 2018, RK also became a Grammy voting member. RK's talent is offering both a traditional approach as well as by ear, chords, and improvisation.
