Chris graduated from the University of Houston at Clear Lake in 1996 with a Bachelor of Business Associates Management degree. He continued his education at the San Jacinto Community College in Pasadena TX from 1992-1994 for Applied Music Associates in Arts for Guitar Performance. Chris was owner and operator for a music studio for twelve years. From 1999 to 2007, he taught class and private guitar at a high school. He began teaching in 1994 and offers classical, jazz, blues, pop, folk, and R&B styles.
