Emily graduated from St. Norbert College in De Pere, WI with a Bachelor in Music Performance. She then transferred to University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in Minneapolis, MN to continue her Masters program in Music Performance with an expected graduation of 2020. Emily started music at a very young age. The piano was her first instrument, where she studied for several years. She also played the violin and sang in the school choir. In 2007, Emily started playing saxophone and immediately knew this was the right instrument for her. In high school, she played in two concert bands and the jazz band while taking private lessons. At St Norbert, she performed in the top wind ensemble (principal player her senior year) and jazz band (principal all four years). She also participated in pit orchestra for two years, concert band (clarinet) for one year, and saxophone ensemble for all four years with a variety of different saxophones and woodwinds. She also performed her junior and senior recitals. Outside of college, Emily has performed in a variety of shows across cities in WI, IL, and IA, where she played soprano, alto, and tenor saxophone. She also attended a summer academy with some of the leading professors on saxophone, and participated in the National Band Association Conference and the Band Directors National Association Conference in the spring of 2018. Emily began teaching in early 2018, and offers classical, jazz, pop, and most contemporary styles.
