A versatile drummer and percussionist with over 15 years of experience in jazz, rock, Latin, and African rhythms.
Carlos received his Bachelor of Arts in Music from The Florida State University in 2006. As a professional musician, he has served as a percussion accompanist for a variety of modern and African dance programs, including those at The Ohio State University, The Florida State University, Dennison University, Kenyon College, and BalletMet.
Since 2006, Carlos has provided drum set and percussion instruction to students of all ages and performance levels. His background is deeply rooted in performance, having worked with bands encompassing nearly every genre of music. Currently, he continues to perform as a drummer and percussionist for several active bands.
Beyond the studio, Carlos is the founder of a community-based group drumming program designed to promote health and well-being among people of all ages. His teaching personality is described as easygoing, patient, and highly adaptable to each student's specific musical goals.
Carlos teaches from a dedicated home studio in Pegram (SW of Nashville), featuring a separate room and entrance. The space is equipped with multiple drum sets and hand percussion instruments.
