Brent was born in a musical family, his mother being a music teacher. He started his musical education at 5 years old on the accordion. At the age of 10 he entered State Championships and as a teenager, Brent played percussion in the School band through high school. He began drum lessons at the age of 14 and joined his first rock band. He then taught himself guitar at 18 and sang and played in other bands, which he continues to perform currently. He attended Olympic College in Bremerton, WA for 2 years with an education degree. During those 2 years he took courses in music theory and music engineering. He's been teaching since 2004, including teaching programs at elementary schools. Along with teaching and performing, Brent also does recording projects. His styles include pop, country, rock and traditional.
