Megan began piano lessons at the age of twelve. While she didn't enjoy lessons at first, she had an inspiring and talented piano teacher who helped change her mind, which is in part why she loves to teach and help inspire other students. By the end of high school, she had competed in several major competitions. Megan graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA in 2012 with a Bachelor in Piano Performance with Choral Specialization. While there, along with private piano, she also studied privately on voice, and took courses in music theory, aural skills, piano pedagogy, and conducting. She began student teaching in 2011 under the help of the pedagogy department, and had a studio of about 20 students. After graduating from there, Megan continued her education at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY and received a Master of Music degree in 2018 in Music Teaching & Learning. She also continued private piano lessons there, and did an independent study with multiple piano teachers to compare teaching methods and approaches to creative teaching. Megan offers both traditional and by ear lessons, for both classical and most contemporary styles.
