Reviews: Guitar student Annalisa teaches and performs on several plucked string instruments, including the classical and baroque guitars, ukulele, theorbo and cittern. She studied with an internationally renowned classical guitarist from Spain, then at the San Francisco Conservatory and Bard College. She was also mentored for twenty years by Juilliard's Department Head and internationally recognized authority on early music. Annalisa initiated the Cosmos Club Concerts in Washington, D.C., and won five grants from the New York State Council on the Arts. Along with teaching and performing, Annalisa is a recording artist, who's first live solo album was well-received by critics and garnered the No. 8 spot on the Billboard Traditional Classical chart. She's in the process of being published by an independent publisher for her collected transcriptions of Argentine tangos. Annalisa performs locally and in the NY metro area as a soloist and ensemble player, and recently launched an ensemble exploring music of the 16th and 17th centuries. Annalisa has been teaching since 1993, and over the years has come up with a unique way of teaching the Suzuki Guitar Method, her own approach to learning guitar the classical way.
