Juan is a premier music educator holding a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A) in Voice Performance from the University of South Carolina. Since 2000, he has been sharing his international performance expertise with students, offering lessons fluently in both English and Spanish.
His professional career spans major opera houses and concert halls across the United States, Europe, and South America. Juan was a distinguished member of the National Opera Company of Costa Rica and a winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions (South Carolina District).
With iconic roles such as Rodolfo in La Bohème and Alfredo in La Traviata under his belt, Juan brings a world-class perspective to his pedagogy. He is dedicated to helping students of all skill levels discover their vocal potential and build a rigorous technical foundation on the piano.
Juan provides expert instruction in Voice (all levels) and Piano (Beginner to Intermediate). His methodology focuses on healthy vocal production, breath control, and expressive musicality. He is also available for specialized coaching in Music Theory and Music Appreciation.
