Kathi grew up in a musical family and has been performing since childhood. She began her private study on the piano in middle school and went on to attend Point Loma Nazarene University as a piano performance major. During her college years, she gained invaluable "real-world" experience touring nationally with a professional Christian Rock band.
Kathi later continued her formal musical education at the prestigious San Francisco Conservatory of Music. This high-level academic background provided her with a deep understanding of both performance and music theory across multiple genres.
Providing private piano and voice instruction since 1985, Kathi is a highly versatile educator. She offers expert instruction in Jazz, Classical, Pop, Rock, and R&B styles. Whether a student wants to follow a traditional path with sheet music or master the art of playing by ear, Kathi tailors her methodical approach to help students of all ages achieve their musical goals.
Kathi teaches from a professional home studio in Parsons, TN, and offers high-definition online instruction. She focuses on creating a supportive environment where students feel confident exploring different genres. She is also available for in-home lessons throughout the local area.
