Michael has been a force in the guitar world since the 1960s and has performed professionally for most of his adult life. He currently leads a band that has been active for over a decade, performing at venues ranging from intimate clubs to major concert stages.
A dedicated educator, Michael has been teaching guitar and bass since 1977. Many of his former students have gone on to successful professional careers in the music industry. In 2003, he expanded his teaching to include students of all ages (8 to adult) and became the organizer and director of six annual Rock Camps, giving young musicians the full experience of stage performance.
Michael offers instruction both traditionally (reading music) and by ear. His expertise spans a massive range of genres, including R&B, Rock, Metal, Pop, Country, Folk, Reggae, Ethnic, Christian, Gospel, and Alternative.
Michael is known for an outgoing and encouraging teaching personality. He focuses on building the technical skills necessary to perform on stage while keeping the learning process enjoyable. He offers flexible studio sessions in Monroe and travels to surrounding areas for in-home lessons.
