Michael is a native New Yorker and a distinguished figure in the NYC musical landscape. He was the Valedictorian of the famed High School of Performing Arts in Manhattan before graduating Summa cum Laude from SUNY Purchase. He subsequently earned both his Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) in flute performance from SUNY Stony Brook, sponsored by a prestigious federal Javits Fellowship.

Teaching since 1987, Michael has served on the faculties of the Bronx Conservatory of Music and Brooklyn College. Michael provides lessons at his professional studio in New York City, as well as high-definition online sessions. He also travels for in-home lessons throughout the NYC area.
