A multi-instrumentalist with a Bachelor in Music Education from UTPB, specializing in jazz drumming and modern performance.
Joe graduated from the University of Texas Permian Basin with a Bachelor in Music Education. His musical journey began at age 12 with his first drum set, sparking a lifelong passion for rhythm. During high school, he performed extensively throughout the Austin area in a family-led band.
While in college, Joe developed a deep passion for jazz drumming as a member of student-led jazz combos at UTPB. He has performed with the UTPB Jazz Kettle and the Aquarena Springs Symphonic Band, co-founding professional jazz ensembles along the way.
Beyond the drums, Joe is an accomplished guitarist, utilizing the instrument for songwriting and melodic exploration. Recently, he has added piano and keyboard to his repertoire. Since 2021, he has provided expert private instruction and has significant experience teaching high school marching bands.
Joe is an easygoing and patient instructor who tailors his lessons to each student's specific pace and interests. He teaches from a professional business center studio in Odessa (near 8th St & Grandview) and provides in-home lessons throughout the Odessa/Midland area.
Studio Equipment: His professional space is fully equipped with acoustic and electric drum sets, electric and classical guitars, and weighted electric pianos.
