Most method books teach the “Every Good Boy Does Fine” system, however, I have found this system only creates a “crutch” and doesn’t allow the student to read fluently or show the logic of the notes on the staff ascending and descending in alphabetical order. To be a sight reader, there needs to an automatic visual reference for each note without counting. The only way to achieve that is by repetition. This books includes repetitive writing assignments, causing the student to be a fluent reader by the end of the book. Note Reading Workbook has 3 levels: Level 1 for treble clef, level 2 for the bass clef, and level 3 is a review of all the notes.
