Curtis received his Bachelors of Music in performance from the University of Central Arkansas in 2010 and his Masters degree in clarinet performance from Arizona State University in 2013. He is currently working on a doctorate in clarinet performance at Arizona State University and is one of the teaching assistants for the clarinet studio. As an active performer, Curtis has performed in several countries, including solo and chamber performances in Shanghai and Belgium. Curtis performed with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, the Conway Symphony Orchestra, and the Pine Bluff Symphony Orchestra, as well as several other orchestras and ensembles in Arkansas and Arizona. In 2012, he presented a solo recital tour in Arkansas, including a performance in the Under the Dome concert series in Conway, Arkansas. In addition, he recorded supplemental recordings with Bruce Pearson for the Bb clarinet, and alto clarinet editions of Traditions of Excellence, Book 3 in 2014. He currently performs locally with ensembles. Curtis has been teaching since 2008 privately and woodwinds for a school of music. He also helps teach undergraduate music majors at Arizona State University and the clarinet portion of the Woodwind Methods course as part of his teaching assistant ship. Curtis has a passionate for helping students of all ages discover their potential.
