Heather's Bio:
Heather graduated from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in San Francisco, CA, in 2003 with a Bachelor's in Music. Then in 2006, she continued there to receive a Masters Degree in Vocal performance. Heather began studying at the age of eleven with a professional voice teacher who was a Romanian opera singer. Upon graduation, she began a career in Yiddish music, musical theater, and opera. Her performances include singing in film, a PBS documentary, the Folksbiene Theatre in New York City, and composing and acting for the Yiddish Theatre Ensemble in Berkeley. Heather has also worked with Sundance (MA), Music Theatre Group (NYC), YIVO (NYC), Ashkenaz Festival (Toronto), and the Yiddish Book Center (MA) as well as in Hungary and Israel, and extensively in the Bay Area and Canada, and has premiered many Yiddish roles and produced and recorded four albums. From 2015-2024, Heather has performed as a cantorial soloist and freelance singer, as well as having worked with different musical ensembles. She has taught privately since 2006 and offers musical theatre, classical, folk, pop, and Cantorial styles.
