Shelly's Bio:
Shelly is originally from Middleton, WI, where she began studying piano at the age of 8, flute at 10, saxophone at 12, and clarinet at 14. After high school, Shelly attended Luther College in Decoarah, IA, which is where she learned to play all the other band instruments. She graduated in 1996 with degrees in Music Education and Music Management. After graduation, Shelly taught for a year in Spring Grove, MN. Growing increasingly weary of snow, she decided to move to Nashville in the Fall of 1997. Shelly has had extensive experience performing in both ensemble (concert band, jazz ensemble, marching band, saxophone quartets) and solo situations. In addition to teaching for Melody Music Studios, Shelly spends her days working as a senior financial analyst in Nashville, and volunteers for W.O. Smith Nashville Community Music School.
