Ryan attended Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC for one year towards a Guitar Performance Bachelor's degree where he studied jazz improv, classical guitar, theory, chorus, and piano. He is currently working on a music degree in Guitar Performance, with an emphasis on jazz. Ryan began studying privately since the late 1980's, and has been performing in cover bands, jazz ensembles, orchestras, and big bands for decades. Ryan has been teaching since 2005, offering both traditional (reading) and by ear and improv lessons. His styles include classic rock, heavy metal, bebop jazz, swing jazz, classical guitar, country, blues, funk, r&b, folk, punk, alternative, and contemporary worship styles.
