John studied at the University of UT with a music major and studied privately with top professional and well known jazz musicians. He's been teaching since 1985. His main style is jazz, but he also teaches all contemporary styles and light classical.

Melody Music Studios was founded in 1989 by Kathi Kerr. We offer fun, tailored lessons for all instruments, levels, and styles, reading or by ear. Our goal is to build a strong musical foundation for a lifetime of enjoyment.

We offer a one business-day grace period to cancel with a guarantee: if you're unhappy with the teaching, the first 30 minutes are free. Card information is required at sign up, but it is not charged until the following business day if you're happy.

Future lessons can be canceled anytime with a 30-day notice.

Our music teachers go through a rigorous hiring process. We check references and conduct background checks.
