Mark began studying drums at age 9 through school studies and private instruction, which continued all the way through high school, participating in ensembles, concert bands, marching bands, jazz bands, state championships, all state concert and jazz bands, and vocal groups. After high school he attended an in-depth summer session at The University of the Arts jazz program in Philadelphia, PA. Mark received his Bachelors of Music at the James Madison University School of Music in Harrisonburg, VA in 2000 for Music Industry, where he also studied classical percussion and participated in the University Wind Symphony, percussion ensemble, Marching Royal Dukes, and jazz ensembles. He also participated in several projects outside of school while at the university. Mark began teaching in 2000, and since 2011 has been teaching at a private academy. His styles include rock, funk, Latin, jazz, R&B, country, and folk. Since 2001, Mark has been performing, touring, and recording with several bands, from rock to jazz and blues.
