Julie holds a Performance Diploma from Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI in 2016. Before that she graduated from the Hartt School University of Hartford with a Master of Music in 2014 for Piano Performance and Pedagogy Emphasis. Before coming to the United States in 2012, she received a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Hanyang University in Seoul Korea. Julie also graduated high school from an arts school in Korea. She is currently attending the University of North Texas in Denton TX towards a Doctorate of Music with an expected graduation date of 2020. Julie began teaching in 2007 teaching both privately and for music theory pedagogy seminars. She has performed countless recitals, chambers, concerts, and festivals in many venues since 2013 as well as attending many master classes. She was awarded university scholarships and won 3rd prize for a national and international piano competition.

Melody Music Studios was founded in 1989 by Kathi Kerr. We offer fun, tailored lessons for all instruments, levels, and styles, reading or by ear. Our goal is to build a strong musical foundation for a lifetime of enjoyment.
We offer a one business-day grace period to cancel with a guarantee: if you're unhappy with the teaching, the first 30 minutes are free. Card information is required at sign up, but it is not charged until the following business day if you're happy.
Future lessons can be canceled anytime with a 30-day notice. Our music teachers go through a rigorous hiring process. We check references and conduct background checks.
