Julie's lifelong commitment to music began with formal piano instruction at age ten, followed by intensive vocal training at sixteen. She studied at Sacramento City College under the head vocalist professor and continued her advanced education with several BYU vocal professors. Her training also includes private studies under renowned opera coaches and a professor from the SF Conservatory of Music.
A veteran of the industry, Julie has been teaching piano and voice since 1978. Her professional background is notably diverse; she founded, produced, and directed a Broadway theatre company in Susanville, CA, which she successfully led for 14 years. This real-world production experience allows her to provide her students with unique insights into stage presence, performance confidence, and theatrical interpretation.

Julie offers specialized group keyboard classes of 3-4 students for beginners of all ages. These one-hour weekly lessons are designed to be fun and exciting, utilizing games and proven practice techniques that have been shown to dramatically improve sight-reading skills.
Program Goal: To build a strong foundation through social learning. Once students reach a specific proficiency level, they can transition into private study.
