A multi-instrumentalist with a Bachelor in Music Education, specializing in jazz drumming and ensemble performance.
Joe graduated from the University of Texas Permian Basin in 2025 with a Bachelor in Music Education. His musical journey began at age 12 when he was gifted his first drum set, a moment that sparked a lifelong passion for rhythm. During high school, he and his brother formed a band that performed extensively throughout the Austin, TX area.
While in college, Joe developed a deep passion for jazz drumming as a member of a student-led jazz combo at UTPB. He has since participated in the UTPB Jazz Kettle, performed with the Aquarena Springs Symphonic Band in San Marcos, and co-founded a jazz combo titled Combo No. 3.
Beyond the drums, Joe is an accomplished guitarist, an instrument he uses frequently for songwriting and melodic exploration. He participated in Austin Classical Guitar in high school and was a member of the UTPB Guitar Ensemble. Recently, Joe has also added keyboard and piano to his repertoire. Since 2021, he has provided private instruction and has teaching experience with several high school marching bands.
Joe is an easygoing and patient instructor who tailors his lessons to the student's pace. He teaches from a professional business center studio located near 8th Street and Grandview in Odessa.
