Connie grew up with classically trained musical parents, and knew as a child that piano was her passion and gift. By the time she became interested in jazz at the age of 14, she had great technical proficiency on the instrument and could focus all her energy on adding stylistic and abstract elements to her music. Connie graduated from the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, an audition-only arts high school, which had an extremely competitive jazz department. After graduating high school, she opted for a professional music career, playing in the local scene and international festivals. She then attended UCLA in Los Angeles, CA for one year under a Jazz Studies (Ethnomusicology) degree. Connie was a featured artist in the Montreal Jazz Festival, and the Sandoval Jazz Festival playing a duet with Grammy-award winning Cuban trumpeter. She recently signed a four-album deal with Detroit-based jazz record label. Connie also found her newest passion of teaching and sharing her gift with others. She began teaching in 2014, and offers jazz, classical, pop and most contemporary styles.
