Xujing

Xujing (pronounced Shoo Jing) is a world-class clarinetist and educator based in Minneapolis. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts in Clarinet Performance at the University of Minnesota School of Music. Prior to her doctoral studies, she earned a Master of Music from the prestigious Peabody Institute in Baltimore in 2022, and a Bachelor of Music from the Xinghai Conservatory of Music in Guangzhou, China, in 2020.

An elite performer, Xujing has served as a principal clarinetist in numerous symphonies since 2016. Her technical mastery and artistic excellence have been recognized with multiple awards from international music fellowships and festivals. This deep "real-world" orchestral experience allows her to provide her students with professional insights into tone production, ensemble dynamics, and high-level performance technique.

Teaching professionally since 2016, Xujing has held instructional roles at various institutions in both China and the United States. In addition to her musical expertise, she has served as a Chinese language tutor, reflecting her commitment to bridging cultural gaps through education. She offers expert instruction in Classical and Contemporary styles. Known for her outgoing and warm personality, Xujing creates an inspiring environment where students of all ages can thrive and develop a lifelong passion for woodwind performance.
