Kathi studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in San Francisco, CA, under Julliard graduate, Mac McCray. Before that, Kathi performed, traveled and recorded in a contemporary christian band as keyboarist and background vocalist. Kathi started teaching private piano and voice lessons while at the Conservatory, and found that she really enjoyed it. In 1989, she found herself with so many students, she decided to hire some of her advanced adult students to help teach, and thus Melody Music Studios was started.
As Melody Music Studios began to grow, she decided to expand to all instruments and voice, and in 2001 opened multiple cities across the country. Kathi has a love for music, and believes that, while learning an instrument or voice should be challenging, it should also be fun and positive for the student as he/she begins their musical journey.

Hello Everyone! I am so happy to be a part of the Melody Music Studios Family! I am originally from the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area and am very much enjoying my new home in Nashville, TN. I come from a music loving family who through the generations have taught, wrote, and played with the likes of composer Edvard Grieg, jazz great Dave Brubeck and rock legends ACDC. I play bass guitar in a band called Pilots Wish with my brother, sister and wonderful friends. Music is a very important part of my life and I very much look forward to helping you start your exciting music lessons at Melody Music Studios.
