Suzahn teaches guitar (all styles including rock and jazz), voice, beginning piano, theory and ear training, artist development, and songwriting, and has been teaching since 1982 when she graduated from Fredonia College in New York, with a degree in music and audio engineering. Some of her students have accomplished successful musical careers, including performing in Broadway shows in New York City, and hit song writers. Suzahn originally hails from New York where she worked as a well-respected vocalist, composer and actress in clubs and concert halls from the Bottom Line to Lincoln Center, writing and performing national jingles for Certs, Dr. Pepper and Budweiser, to name a few, and has been a Warner-Chapel songwriter for over 20 years for award-winning films and TV including Oprah, Desperate Housewives, Disney, ESPN, BET, National Geographic, and Nickelodeon and many more. She also has four songs in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC, and two in the Baseball Hall of Fame. She also writes for Carlin International Music Group and has performed, recorded or written with talent including Vanessa Williams, Will Lee (Letterman show), and Marvin "Smitty" Smith (Jay Leno), to name a few, and was given the, "Honored Friend Award", presented by Sir Paul McCartney after the pair co-hosted fundraising events (including Bonaroo) for the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts, where she is a guest instructor. Suzahn continues to travel as a jazz artist playing jazz festivals, clubs, colleges (where she gives clinics) in the US and Europe, and recorded a CD that was co-produced by 4 time Grammy winning producer.
