Kay graduated from Milton College in Milton, WI with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. She received her Master of Music Education degree from Vander Cook College of Music in Chicago, IL. Kay taught instrumental music in the public school for 41 years. She also played principal trumpet with the Beloit/Janesville Symphony for over 40 years. Currently, Kay is Instructor of Trumpet at a local college and a freelance trumpeter in the area. She also performs with the big band based in Madison, WI. Kay offers all styles, from classical to contemporary and improv.
