At Melody Music Studios, drum lessons are fun yet challenging. Our drum lessons are tailored for the individual for his/her pace and musical styles, whether the student is interested in traditional or by ear drum lessons. Traditional lessons include technique, exercises, music reading skills and studying specific songs. To learn by ear includes music theory, ear exercises and improvisization. For Drum instruction we create a positive, you can do it environment and offer styles and songs that are fun and easy to learn while setting the foundation for future lessons. As a student develops, we begin to challenge them with more difficult songs, styles, scales and exercises. The most important aspect of drum lessons and instruction is long term committment to learning and to remember that it takes time to learn the skill of playing drums. Recitals Another fun aspect of drum lessons is our recitals. These are offered annually and are for all students who want to participate. This is an exciting time for students to share with others their accomplishments and for everyone to show their support. Our recitals are offered for all students and instruments as well as drums. One student may be a 5 year old playing "I'm a little teacup", another may be adult playing a Beethoven sonata. We've even had full bands perform! The recitals are fun and positive and followed by fun and refreshments.
