Andy received a Bachelor in Music from Ithaca College for Music Performance and minor in Composition in 2008. He continued to received his Masters in Music from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN in 2012 for Music Performance, followed by earning a Doctorate in Music Performance and a minor in Music Theory from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC in 2016. While attending both graduate programs he served as a full-time graduate assistant in guitar (doctorate) and guitar/music theory (masters). Andy has been teaching since 2007, and along with teaching privately, he also teaches at a community music center and serves as adjunct faculty at an academy of music. Andy has performed around the southeast areas as a classical guitarist in solo and chamber settings, and his performances include the Charleston UU Candlelight concert series, the Jasper Artist of the Year awards (Columbia, SC), the Southern Guitar Festival, the Austin Peay State University Guitar Festival, and the ArtFields festival (Lake City, SC), as well as having performed as a musician aboard Holland America Cruise Lines as a solo and show/cocktail band guitarist. Andy offers classical, folk, jazz, fingerstyle, and rock styles, offering improv/ear training, harmony, and composition as well.
